Teije van den Burgh — 17 years old and already turning heads.

Some athletes take years to find their discipline. Teije van den Burgh is not one of them. At just 17 years old, he has already shown a rare ability to excel at whatever he sets his mind to. Growing up, athletics was his world — with javelin throwing as his favourite event. But a new challenge called, and Teije answered.

He turned his focus to triathlon, with a specialisation in time trialling — and the results came quickly. A 3rd place at the Dutch Championship Team Time Trial in 2025, followed by a 1st place win at the Giant-Schwalbe Toekomstcup in 2026. Not bad for someone who still has homework to hand in.

This year, Teije will get his first taste of triathlon racing — but his eyes are firmly set on a bigger prize: a spot at the UCI World Championships Time Trial. All of this alongside his school commitments, which makes every result even more impressive.

We’re proud to support Teije as he takes his next steps. This is only the beginning.
